There is a case of many students who purchased the UNN Postgraduate form for 2017/18, took part in the UNN PG screening around August last year but there names didn’t make the recently  released PG list. If you are reading this and you fall into this category this is strictly for you.

There are many factors which can hinder your chance of being admitted into the UNN postgraduate programme. Sometimes this is self induced. A times it is caused by external factors. Whichever one, you can’t sit and watch your application fee go in vain.

Many people who called last week over this issue complained about how NASU strike affected their bid to make enquiries into what hampered their admission but the strike is over. There should be no excuses now.

Let’s look at what you can do if your name was not included in the first UNN PG admission list.

  1. Visit the UNN PG school: This should be your first step towards resolving the issues surrounding your inability to be admitted. When you get to the PG school, go to the office where you submitted your application form. Meet the person representing your faculty. Discuss your problem with her/him. It’s now within your faculty officer’s prerogative to give you reasons behind your inability to be admitted. The most common issues include: late arrival of transcript, poor CGPA, wrong application, etc.
  2. Visit the department you applied to. This is very crucial in fixing your UNN PG admissions issues. When you visit the department, make sure you speak directly with the HOD. Discuss with her/him. Explain that you applied, with so so and so CGPA, and that you read so so and so course yet you didn’t see your name in the first admission list. He will be in a position to reveal why they didn’t accept your application.
  3. Check the transcript room in the UNN PG School(room 203) This place is vital if you are told by your faculty officer that she/he did not receive your transcript. This transcript room is where you can actually check if your transcript did arrive or not. The information you get from here will determine your next step. You could begin by tracking the transcript if it’s not in the room. If it’s in the room, go to the room you submitted your application , alert your faculty officer so he/she can go for the transcript collection.
